So what if I only had two of the final four teams (including my prediction for National Champion), I wanted North Carolina to win it all anyway. Damn you Wisconsin.
On a positive note for North Carolina, in this post I will be giving out the All-Time Ranking of NBA players. Sort of like the one for the NFL All-Time Players. If you haven't seen that one, be sure to check it out immediately. CLICK HERE FOR SOMETHING AWESOME!
The difference between this list and the NFL All-Time list is that the NBA list does not break down by position. In the NBA there are so many times where a player's "position" doesn't really matter. The previous four seasons when LeBaby James played for Miami, he was the point guard when the game was on the line. The same goes for every superstar in the league that is not a center or power forward, frankly because they are so tall they can't dribble the ball for a long time.
Let's get into some details about how this rank works. There are five components that make up this list.
- All-NBA (First Team): This one is sort of self-explanatory. This means that you were the top player at your position that year and you were probably one of the Top-5 players in the league that season. 1 Point.
- All-NBA (Second Team): Some year's there might be three ridiculous points guards in the NBA, but only two might make the first team (They would just add the other PG and Shooting Guard). This allows those people who just barely missed the cut to have recognition. Now there is a All-NBA (Third Team), which is just silly and doesn't make my list of possibly components. 0.5 Point.
- NBA MVP (Regular Season): This one is more self-explanatory than the first. You were the best player that year. 1 Point.
- NBA Finals MVP: I just realized this and you might be thinking it too, but is it necessary that I keep on saying NBA before everything when it is clearly an NBA post? Probably not, but I am anyway. Anyways back to the NBA Final MVP. This one is on the list because the player stepped up and put the best performance out of his team to win the championship. In a sport that only plays close to 10 players on a single team, that is quite a feat. 1 Point
- NBA Championships: This was one category that I left off the NFL list, because the NFL has so many players that help win a title. In the NBA, like I stated just a moment ago, there is only about two handful of players that contribute on one team (that's 10 for the less educated). Sorry for the people missing fingers. "Poor Stavi." That was a reference to "The Ringer," starring Johnny Knoxville. Quality Film.
Anyways, back to basketball. Being on the team you contributed to win a championship. Jordan never would have one without Pippen, Rodman and his supporting cast. Well he might have won with a different supporting cast, but not win it by himself. 1 Point.
Also, the more you accomplish throughout your career is how great you become. Just because someone might have lit it up for three years, then didn't do anything, doesn't make him an "All-Time" great. Longevity of a player counts a lot. Ex. #4. Also in case somebody wants to make the Robert Horry reference, since he has won around 10 titles with various teams, a player has to have at least 3 points combined on All-NBA First Teams & All-NBA Second Teams.
So lets get to the list, eh.
